Rockleigh Borough contracts with the
Borough of Northvale, NJ, for a full range of security services and resources.
Uniformed patrol presence
in or near the Borough at all times is stipulated by the contract. The
Closter Communications Center
answers all enhanced 9-1-1 calls from Rockleigh Borough and dispatches
appropriate ambulance, fire department or police response. In addition to
patrol, the Northvale Police Department is the "first
responder" for all automatic alarms of fire. The Closter
Communications Center dispatches the Rockleigh Volunteer Fire
Department and coordinates the communication needs of the Fire Department
at all incidents.
The Northvale Police Department provides
professional backup services and resources, including additional personnel
and vehicles when needed, detective and crime investigation services,
and emergency management
resources.
The
Inter-Local Agreement between Rockleigh and Northvale for police services is an outstanding example of the principle of shared
community resources.
