re: Confiscation and Auction of Tory Property, 1784

20 August 1784 (recorded 11 Nov 1803, Bergen Co. R:113) Cornelius Haring, Esq., agent of forfeited estates in the County of Bergen, issued out of Court of Common Pleas held at New Barbadoes, setting forth that at the term of January 1779 at Pompton, judgment against Johannes Marthage [Marthagen] late of Harington Township, for joining the Army of the King of Great Britain [his land confiscated] and sold at public venue to Resolvert Aurijanse of Harington Township on 15 June 1784 for £63, parcel in Harington Township at a place called Closter. Bounded E by North or Hudson River; S by Daniel Vervalen; W by Hendrick Nagle and John and Resolvert Aurijanse; N by William Nagle, 15 acres tillable land.
